  • 64% prefer smoke-free restaurants

  • 62% feel government should regulate smoking in public places

  • 66% feel businesses should do more to protect their employees from second hand smoke

  • 70% feel businesses should do more to protect their customers from second hand smoke

  • An online poll in the Charlotte observer conducted in December 2004 found that 64% believe that smoking should be banned in bars and restaurants.

  • An informal survey done in December 2004 outside Bank of America Stadium before a Carolinas Panthers football game found that 75% of game attendees prefer smoke-free dining.
